Last month, we traveled to Chicago to attend a wedding. Since I had never been, I wanted to do some sightseeing. In-between wedding festivities, we had about 24 hours of free time, and I think we got a lot accomplished in the small amount of time that we had! October 17 – 19

Whenever we arrived, we headed straight to Giordano’s to eat some deep dish pizza for lunch! After that, we went on an architecture tour down the Chicago River.

While downtown, we went to Millennium Park to check out the Cloud Gate sculpture. Then we wandered around some more, did some shopping on the Magnificent Mile and grabbed a couple of cocktails before heading to our friend’s place for a pre-wedding hang out.

The next day / morning of the wedding, we went to the Skydeck at the Willis Tower (formerly named the Sears Tower).

Another site we stumbled across while walking downtown, the iconic Chicago Theatre!

After waking up on Sunday, we decided to go to the Lincoln Park Zoo since our flight wasn’t until the evening! Not too many animals were out, but it was still enjoyable. Fun fact: Lincoln Park Zoo is one of the oldest zoos in the US! It’s also one of the only free zoos in the US too.
