For our first anniversary, Andrew and I decided to go “traditional” and we gave each other paper gifts, which were plane tickets to Peru! We spent the first half of the trip touring Lima and Cusco and the second half on an Amazon River Cruise!! (January 13 – January 22) This post is long overdue, but better late than never!

Our hotel, Novotel, in Cusco was so nice. In the middle of the hotel was an awesome courtyard, where we sipped coca tea to help with altitude sickness! For dinner, we went to a restaurant and Andrew tried alpaca – it was a little chewy.

Day 3 – Sacred Valley  – this 46 mile area is basically everything from Cusco to Aguas Calientes (Machu Picchu)!
