Whenever you think about wineries in Texas, the last place that you’ll think to visit is one in Sante Fe, TX – about an hour away from downtown Houston / population: 12k! We found this place via groupon (still available!) and decided to go on the tour with our husbands and a couple other friends!
After touring the vineyard and seeing how the wine was made, we finally got to try some! The tastings included:
– Dry White Blanc Du Bois
– Cabernet Sauvignon
– Sweet White Blanc Du Bois
– White Port or Madeira (Heather chose the red & Holly chose the white)
After the tastings were over, we decided to sit outside and enjoy some wine and cheese since it was such a perfect day. We bought a bottle of Malbec, Cabernet Sauvignon and Rosé. They had an awesome selection of Boar’s Head meats and cheeses, so we also got some smoked Gouda and Cheddar, Salami, Mozzarella wrapped prosciutto, herb and cheese crackers, spicy Bloody Mary crackers and pickled asparagus. We had a smörgåsbord of yum!
