Over the weekend, we got together with some friends for a beach day in Galveston! Galveston may not be the best beach in Texas, but it’s only an hour from downtown Houston, so it works!

We rented a beach house a block away from the seawall and from Pleasure Pier! It was the cutest house and fit the seven of us perfectly!

After catching up with each other on Friday, we made tacos for dinner! We then got crafty and made personalized bracelets to wear at the beach! (Instructions coming later this week.)

Saturday was our beach day! The weather was absolutely perfect – sunny with a breeze! We were all so surprised to find that the ocean was a perfect temperature too, so we spend a lot of time in the Gulf!

After the beach, we got ready for a night on The Strand! The Strand is a few streets filled with shops, restaurants and bars. While we were waiting for a table at Yaga’s Cafe, we had cocktails at (the connected) Tsunami Tequila Emporium. After dinner, we enjoyed live music at Crows, then bar hopped for a bit. Later that night, a few of us went to Float Pool & Patio bar that was close to our house.

The next morning, we had brunch at Mosquito Cafe. This restaurant was the best… no wonder why there was a line to get in! We then walked to a little bakery across the way, PattyCakes Bakery, to pick up a treat for the drive back home.
